What is the Consumers Energy Small Business Marketplace?
The Consumers Energy Small Business Marketplace is an e-commerce store that provides qualified small business customers with instant rebates and free shipping on energy efficiency products.
Who is qualified to purchase from the Small Business Marketplace?
Consumers Energy small business customers that use less than 400,000 kWh or 6,000 MCF per year. Products purchased in the Small Business Marketplace should only be installed in your small business. Residential customers are qualified to make purchases in the Residential Online Store, located at https://consumersenergystore.com. Products purchased there should be installed in your home.
How do I validate that I am an eligible small business customer?
You can validate your customer type by using the green buttons below the welcome banner or before you checkout. The Small Business Marketplace will then ask you to enter your business account number, to see if you’re eligible for purchases.
If I have multiple small business accounts, can I place orders for each small business?
Yes. We recommend setting up a separate account for each small business to ensure the minimum and maximum order limits are applied properly. If you are having difficulty setting up multiple accounts, please empty your computer’s cache, then try again. If you continue to have issues, please initiate an online chat.
How do I review a product?
You can add a review of a product by clicking on the product, scrolling down to “Reviews” and clicking “Write a Review.”

How do I login or register?
You can login or create an account by clicking the person icon in the top right corner of the screen. Please note that your Small Business Marketplace login is not the same as your Consumers Energy login.
Is my account username and password the same as my Consumers Energy login?
No, you will need to create a new Small Business Marketplace account with a separate username and password. If you have previously made an account but forgot your password, you can request an emailed password reset.
What if I forgot my password?
Click the person icon in the top right corner of the screen and click on the “Forgot password?” link.
How do I view my order history?
Click the person icon in the top right corner of the screen and log into your account.
Why is my item on backorder?
On rare occasions, popular products can be temporarily sold out, but we are usually back in stock quickly.
Which products are eligible for rebates?
All of the products in the Small Business Marketplace are eligible for rebates. The rebates are applied instantly for eligible small business customers and no paperwork is required.
Is there an application process for the rebates?
No, there is no application process needed for the Small Business Marketplace rebates. The rebates are instantly applied at the point of sale.
Are all small businesses eligible for a smart thermostat rebate?
Yes. All small businesses with eligible small business commercial accounts are eligible for a smart thermostat rebate.
Is everyone eligible for a LED rebate?
No, only electric and combination small business customers are eligible for the LED lighting rebates. Once your fuel type is determined, you will only be shown products you are eligible to buy.
Do you offer rebates on tube or T-8 LEDs for linear fluorescent replacement?
No, but these rebates are available through Consumers Energy’s Small Business Energy Efficiency Program, which can be accessed here: https://consumersenergy.com/business/energy-efficiency/small-business-solutions/small-business-energy-efficiency.
Is everyone eligible for the water saver and pipe insulation rebates?
No, only natural gas and combination small business customers are eligible for the water saver and pipe insulation rebates. Once your fuel type is determined, you will only be shown products you are eligible to buy.
Is there a minimum and maximum amount I can buy?
Yes, based on your fuel type, the following limits apply each calendar year.
Electric and Combination Customers:
- Minimum of 8 LEDs (any combination of type), per order.
- Limit of 30 LEDs per account, per calendar year.
- Limit of 4 exit signs or retrofit kits per account, per calendar year
- Limit of 2 smart thermostats per account, per calendar year.
- Limit of 5 power strips per account, per calendar year
Natural Gas and Combination Customers:
- Minimum of 3 aerators per order, unless combined with other products.
- Limit of 10 aerators and pre-rinse spray valves per account, per calendar year.
- Limit of 2 smart thermostats per account, per calendar year.
What payment methods are available?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Is there an option to have my purchase added to my utility bill?
No, there is not an on-bill financing option. A credit card must be used at checkout to make a purchase.
What if my business is tax exempt?
Please initiate an online chat and either upload your tax exemption documentation or email it to the customer service representative when prompted.
When a customer makes a purchase, who does the charge come from?
The charge on your credit card will come from AM Conservation Group, the Small Business Marketplace product vendor.
How do I apply a coupon code to my order?
Coupon codes can be added during the checkout process. If a customer does not have a coupon code, it is not needed to make the purchase. Coupon codes are provided via email, direct mail and direct contact with customers through other Business Energy Efficiency programs and at community events. If you’d like to be added to our email list, and receive coupon codes and notification of other promotions, please create an account.
How do I know if my order was received?
After your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation email to the email you used while registering for your account. Once your order has shipped, you will receive another email with your tracking code.
Shipping and Delivery
What are the shipping and handling rates?
The Small Business Marketplace has free shipping and handling.
Once I validate my business address, can I change the shipping address to my home address?
Yes, you may change your shipping address. The billing address must stay as the business address. You should install products purchased on the Small Business Marketplace in your business and not your home.
Can my purchases be shipped outside of Michigan?
No, all orders must be shipped to a Michigan address.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
You should receive your order within 7-10 business days.
Where will these products be shipped from?
The product vendor for the Small Business Marketplace is, AM Conservation Group, located in Charleston, SC.
What is the return policy?
The return policy is listed below:
- Items must be returned within 45 days of invoice to be eligible for credit.
- Returned items must be received by the product vendor, AM Conservation Group, in new condition and in the original packaging to be eligible for a refund.
- AM Conservation Group will send a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) which must be included with the return shipment and the RMA number must be printed on the package in order for the returned material to be received at AM Conservation Group.
- A 20 percent re-stocking fee will be assessed on all returns unless the return is a result of an error made by AM Conservation Group or the product is faulty.
- Return shipping cost is the responsibility of the customer unless the return is a result of an error made by AM Conservation Group, in which case, AM Conservation Group will issue FedEx or UPS labels to have the product picked up.
What if I have a warranty claim?
All product warranties are provided by the product manufacturer. Please visit the product manufacturer’s website for all warranty information. Simply Conserve and Niagara Conservation products are manufactured by the product vendor AM Conservation Group. To file a warranty claim for these products, please call 888-513-3005 and ask for the Consumers Energy Small Business Marketplace support staff, or initiate an online chat in the Small Business Marketplace.
